| | A Local Area Agreement (LAA) is a three-year agreement between partners and central government. It is designed to improve local services and improve quality of life for local people. The three-year ‘deal’ sets out the priorities and targets agreed by all partner organisations in St.Helens. The St.Helens Local Area Agreement (LAA) was signed off in July 2008 and will run until March 2011. The Council has a duty to prepare a Local Area Agreement and named local partners have a duty to cooperate in agreeing the targets and to have regard to those targets in their work. |
- Children and Young People
- Healthier Communities and Older People
- Safer Communities
- Communities and Neighbourhoods
- Economic Development and Enterprise
St.Helens LAA reflects the issues and priority areas where we are striving for improvement as a partnership. St.Helens LAA contains 34 “designated” targets, against which our performance will be assessed by central government. These targets are supplemented by 5 local measures which reflect key local concerns. It also includes 10 statutory children and early years targets which are directed by central government.
Accompanying the LAA is the Story of Place document, which is a summary of the extensive network of strategies, partnerships and engagement processes from across the Borough.
